I read an article on the affiliate site this week that shed some light on our current situation.
It is titled, A Fighter Pilots Guide To Effective Communication, and I suggest you all read it. It
talks a lot about leadership and communication, and how they apply to an effective battle plan. For whatever
reason, these are things I feel we are lacking and it is causing me to look what Dr. J called “Grim”.
Without effective communication and leadership every plan will fail. People will do what they want,
everyone will have their own plan and nothing will get accomplished. This is not effective and certainly
not Battle Ready.
In my last blog I laid things on the line and communicated with you our current situation.
It is time now to “check in” and get into formation, ready for battle. We have spent
the last two years preparing you all for this and you are ready. It is time to take your knowledge learned
in the gym and share it with everyone you know. Teach your neighbors, teach your friends, be creative!
You are all free to borrow whatever you need from us and take our knowledge to the streets, or should I say the Battle
Field.
In order to get an action plan in place and keep it updated, here is what I am going to do.
B’s blog will now be updated weekly and it will contain the following information:
- The exact
workouts I did the prior week.
- New stretching and mobility drills to increase performance.
- Recipes and pictures of actual meals I cook and eat
at home and the fire station.
- Videos, pictures and articles with the latest knowledge I find during my studies of training, Crossfit,
and business.
I plan
to launch the new blog the first of November and it will be free to all Battle Ready Members for the rest of 2010.
In an effort to maintain our new plan of action I am also seeking feedback. This is an important
part of “checking in” and will give you all the chance to give us your honest opinion. Please
tell us what you like, what you don’t like and what you want to see in the future. If there are new
topics, exercises, workshops, lectures, whatever it may be…please bring it up with us!
I
would also like to take a second and thank those of you who have heard the call the past few weeks and stepped forward to
help. It is all of you who motivate the rest of us and it gives me hope to see this going on.
Keep your heads up! You all help put a smile on my face!
